ABOUT TIMBER BEAR WOODWORKS
Our Story
Timber Bear Woodworks was created in the Spring of 2023 by Bellwood, PA native Tyler Hunter. As a hobbyist woodworker and business nerd, he saw a noticeable demand for better hardwood lumber and custom furniture options here in our local area. During Covid, he found himself assembling cheaply made, over priced online furniture and also struggled finding a reliable and affordable local hardwood source to build his own.
After lots of thinking, planning, and praying, Tyler launched Timber Bear and was shortly joined by our other incredible team members. Ever since, we've been on a passionate journey to build a lumber and furniture empire together. We're blessed to have a dynamic crew here that knows how to work hard and treat people right.

Our primary purpose behind Timber Bear is to establish an efficient workshop space for creating, building, and re-purposing all things wood and lumber and hopefully impact our local communities by promoting sustainability, utilizing local resources, and highlighting other small businesses.
We pride ourselves in providing accessible, modernized woodworking services and premium hardwoods for the weekend DIY to the professional carpenter and tradesman. We are so blessed to have found an awesome warehouse right in Bellwood, PA, and have been giving it new life. While the 6,000 square foot space is constantly being updated, it fits all of our needs and gives us a lot of open to space to work on projects, efficiently operate our machines, and set up a large lumber inventory.

Tyler is a Bellwood native, loving husband, and father of four amazing young kids. He oversees every department here at Timber Bear and helps give extra physical support wherever needed. He currently owns Revival Fitness & Rehab in Altoona, PA, which he founded in 2016 and he works as a Personal Trainer and Fascial Stretch Therapist. Tyler loves to run, play sports with his kids, eat banana cheesecake, and attend church with his family.
While Tucker graduated high school from Bellwood, he's lived in several different states before actually settling here. He has two awesome daughters and is deeply embedded into the world of competitive cheer. Before transitioning to Timber Bear full time and becoming a co-owner, most of his professional career was spent at US Lumber, where he's gained valuable knowledge of lumber products and operations. Tucker is also an avid ice hockey fan and continues to play in local adult leagues most weeks of the year.
Another Bellwood guy, Garrett went to high school with Tyler and Tucker. He went from reconnecting to sell logs at his house to becoming co-owner and an amazing asset to our team here. He has one son who loves to come help at the shop. Garrett excels in the sales and analytics world, which he successfully integrates into Timber Bear. Over the last decade, he's owned a landscaping company and worked in executive sales at a chemical company, amongst other things. He loves to fish, talk with just about anyone, and spend time with his friends and family.
Rounding out the Bellwood-infused group here, Gary is the senior team member. With over 30 years of furniture making and woodworking experience, he brings elite expertise and invaluable professional wisdom. Until the 2008 housing crisis robbed him of his wood business, Gary was a reputable cabinet and furniture builder. While he has a traveling full time job now, he's back in the woodworking game and is assisting the fabrication operations here. Beyond building things, he's a history enthusiast and performs at Civil War reenactments all over the country
